Hey everybody, its Jae...and let me tell yall I am so pleased with my hair!
I got my hair trimmed and straightened yesterday (1/23) and I am just in love so you know I had to write a post! Over the past 6 months I have really been able to maintain the health of my hair and I am really excited about that. This was the only trim I have had since June, even though I was hoping to get one sooner. All in all, my stylist was very pleased with the condition of my hair!
The length of my hair is about collar bone length, but it has slight curls in it. I think when it is straight it grazes the shoulder. I will do an official length check and post the results on Instagram.
Hair Specs(June 2015) Hair Specs(January 2016)
Cut to Neck length Grazing Shoulder length
6 months post relaxer 13 months post relaxer
split ends (reason for cut) NO split ends! HOORAY!
breakage no breakage
lots of shedding still moderate shedding
Now that I have my hair trimmed, I can continue with my protective styles without having to worry about any split ends and continue to care for my hair.
I am currently in a 6 month protective style challenge (will post more info about the challenge). The challenge ends in March and I am hoping to achieve Shoulder length hair and of course maintain the health! I must admit that I am very proud of myself for keeping my hair up! WHOOP WHOOP!

Pre-poo? Say What?!
So the term Pre-poo means to do something prior to the hair before shampooing. Now most times it's any variation of conditioning the hair, so when you're ready to wash your hair the shampoo will not cause as much stripping to the hair.
Honestly speaking, I have never been a fan of the whole pre-poo movement. I tried before (cant remember the products used) but it didn't seem to make a difference with my hair and just a waste of my time. At that point I just didn't try it again.
However, today was a wash day for me and I decided to give it another try. Here's how it went...
Pre-poo: ORS Hair Mayo

However, today was a wash day for me and I decided to give it another try. Here's how it went...
Pre-poo: ORS Hair Mayo
I let this product sit on my hair for about 25 minutes with a plastic cap. I let the steam from the shower, as well as my natural body heat serve as "heat." Once I took the plastic cap off I was pleasantly surprised. My hair felt amaze-balls! Super soft, really really manageable. My hair was so easy to detangle it really made the whole wash day easier with my 13 months post relaxer transitioning hair... and every little bit helps!
I'm already a huge fan of this product and have been using it for years so its nice to find another way to use it. . .Can we say awesome sauce?!

Product Review || Creme of Nature
Everyone loves new products, but are they worth it?
If you're anything like me you love reviews on products. For me I love reviews for everything; products, movies, apparel, and the list goes on!
As a kid my mother always used Creme of Nature so the brand is not stranger to me, so I've purchased products overtime most of which has been the past several months. I hope you find this review helpful! Let me know if any of you have tried these products before if so, how did it work for you?
Creme of Nature Moisture and Shine Shampoo- my absolute fave! definitely holy grail.
Creme of Nature Pure-licious Co-Wash - love the thick creamy texture and cleanse the product gives, I'm currently revising my regimen to add Co-washing a regular part
Creme of Nature Style and Shine Foaming Mousse - this is my go to product for my perm rod set- enough said!
Creme of Nature Strength and Shine Leave-in Conditioner - this is great for moisturizing and sealing
Creme of Nature Butter-licious Curls- this would be a good product for every day moisturizing

My Love for Perm Rods
Did I mention that I love perm rods sets....and love is not an understatement! Since transitioning, this has become my favorite style for these reasons:
- Can last me up to a week
- Low maintenance
- Blends both textures
- No need to worry about roots
- Weather proof! LOL
*Perm rods work best for me when my hair is stretched.

Pictures Never Lie!
Progression pictures are probably one of my favorite things to see. It shows where a person started and how far they have come. For myself it gives me motivation to keep doing what I'm supposed to do to keep seeing these amazing results. From June 2016 to December 2015.....this is my growth. On my way to shoulder length!

Transitioning to Natural...
Deciding to transition wasn't a hard decision to make. I was pretty fed up with my relaxer. After my extreme haircut it pretty much finalized it, I've been loving it ever since! Currently I'm 12 months and about 2 weeks post relaxer. So far the journey has been okay for me. I should have been more consistent but hey that's what it is! this time I'm making sure my hair journey serious and giving my coils extra TLC! For more about my transition check out my YouTube channel at HairlariousJae.
